Mad Bull Mom and Dads,
This Fall We are starting our 3rd Season and we are at a crossroads in our program. While we have been successful bringing in new wrestlers and teaching them the basics we need to take it to the next level. This season we plan on holding a series of “NEXT LEVEL” clinics where we will spend more time coaching one on one, focusing on the individual wrestlers strengths and weaknesses.
For example, if we see that a wrestler has a body style, natural ability or characteristic trait that allows him/her to excel at Granby’s, Tilt’s or Cradle’s we will work with him or her to enhance that strength. Conversely, if a Mad Bull struggles with hand control getting out from the bottom, we are going to drill great technique for him or her so that it becomes less of a detriment and perhaps even a strength.
These “NEXT LEVEL” clinics will start October 1st and be held in addition to our normally scheduled practice sessions at Norwalk High. These individualized clinics will fast forward progress for each and every kid that is willing to put in the extra work. Being able to communicate to these young athletes EXACTLY what they need to work on-in and out of the wrestling room is a road map to success.
We invite you as parents to speak to us about what you think your young athlete’s strengths and weaknesses are. The coaching staff will take this input and develop a custom game plan and strategy for each wrestler.
Remember to take it to “THE NEXT LEVEL!
P.S Boot camp will continue on Saturday mornings through the month of October and November starting at 8:30am Sharp at the high school. We had 13 athletes there and would like to see more next week.
